Downloading and Installing TeamSpeak:By: Mystical
To get started, click this and it will download the 5 meg file called "TeamSpeak 2 Client."
ftp://ftp.freenet.de/pub/4players/teamspe...7/TeamSpeak.exeOnce you have the setup file, run it and then there should be a shortcut which is now on your desktop for TeamSpeak. Launch it and you'll get a window that looks like this:
1.) Click "Connection" up top and select "Connect."
2.) Click the "Local Address Book" tab at the top of the window that is opened.
3.) Right click on "Servers" in the list to the left and select "Add Server"
4.) Name it "FreeTSHost" or anything you want as long as you know what it is.
5.) On the right you need to fill in the server info.
6.) Enter a "nickname" to go by. This should be your forums name.
7.) Select "Anonymous" if it isn't already selected.
8.) Hit "Connect" at the bottom of the window.
You are now officially ON the chat, but do NOT have a registered account. Your name will have a (U) next to it for "unregistered." At this point you can hear others speaking but you need to register your account in order to guarantee no one impersonates you while you are not there.
Registering:1.) Right click on your name and select "allow self to register"
2.) Click on "Self" up top then select "Register with Server."
3.) Enter the Name EXACTLY as you want it to be registered to the server. Capitals DO matter.
4.) Enter the password you want as well and click ok.
If you entered the exact same name that you currently are on, then your name will most likely change to have a ® after it instead of a (U). If it doesn't then repeat steps 1-6 of the instructions above... no need to log out first. When you get to step 7, instead of selecting "anonymous" select "registered." Enter your name and password that you registered and then hit connect. Your name should now have a ® next to it from now on.
Setting up your voice and configuration:You have two options now, you can either have it as voice activated so that when you speak it automatically sends your voice or you can have it so you have to press a button to talk. Voice activation comes as default so i shouldn't need to explain this. To change it so you have to press a button to talk click the settings button on the tool bar, next click sound input/output button and small box will appear like this one:
To set it to button activated select the "push to talk" option. Once you've done this you will have to set the key you wish to activate your talking. Press the "set" button then the key you desire to use to activate your voice.
You don't need a microphone just to interact in TeamSpeak. Their is a chat feature which allows you to Message the whole Server, or only a specific person.
